Sitges, Spain
Visited Sitges in May 2012. This is the train that we took from Barcelona to Sitges. I didn't take a picture of what's inside the train. But I can confidently tell you that it is a comfortable ride with splendid views of Spain along the way.

Me & Train |
Mr Potter outside Sitges Tourism office, where he went in to get a map and information of the town.
This is the beach area of Sitges where lots of beachfront restaurants are. Pricey, I didn't try the beachfront ones. Instead, I looked up Tripadvisor and got one restuarant with good ratings. Shall show you what I had at the restaurant in a while. Meantime, I had to let you know that the Spainish do not have their lunch until 2pm. Which I am not very used to. So when I reached Sitges, we were both famished and looked for some things to munch. And we saw a bakery.
Bread is not the cheapest food you can find in Barcelona. It's quite costly. We shared one marble cake which is quite huge. Tasty!
As Sitges is considered a tourist town, the bakery of course is filled with tourist. I guessed all of them are like me, hungry, waiting for lunch time.
After the little "breakfast", we walked around town. Sophiscated, the most attractive part is where the "Museu Maricel" is. My guess is if there aren't so many tourists, the place would be very romantic..
Inside is a cathedral. A very small one for worshippers to pray. I didn't take a picture inside out of respect.
This is one of the area I like best around Sitges. The sea breeze is nice, the color of the water is beautiful. Strolling along here is peaceful. I took the time to take in the scenary and tried hard to keep it in my head. :)

Up next, looking for the restuarant for lunch. I recalled that we were famished!
Lunch: eF & Gi Restaurant
Found this restaurant on Tripadvisor. As a traveller, I depend on Tripadvisor quite a bit for the choice of hotels, restaurant and things to do. Thanks to Tripadvisor and its members, travelling are never quite the same as 20 years ago. We waited quite a while outside the restaurant as it was not opened for business yet. As I had mentioned earlier on, the Spainish has late meals.
Outside eF & Gi Restarant |
We were seated quickly as we were the first customers. (Singaporean = Kiasu) The restaurant is operated by a couple named Fabio & Greg. They were very friendly and they told us that they love Thailand, a country with lots of good food too. As we visited Bangkok, Thailand every year, we had a common topic! The resutarant as their own motto which I find it amusing, it says: "Two things to remember, your mother and eF & Gi.". LOL!
Ok, the moment that we were all waiting for: The FOOD..
Starters: Beef Cappacio |
This is superb! I am selfish and refuse to share my starter with Mr Potter, as Beef Capaccio is my favourite dish. I can eat it every day and not get sick of it.
Mr Potter's Main Course: Char-grilled Fish |
Mr Potter had his fish and I had my pasta (as shown below). I cannot remember the exact name of my pasta but I clearly remembered that it has Foie Gras in it beause that's also my favourite dish! (Ya ya.. I got many "Favourites"). :)
If you had noticed, there's a glass of wine on the table. I ordered one which the owner recommended, a Spainish wine, which I had no idea what kind it is as I only wanted to try. Something not spicey and fruity, I thought I would like it. Turn out, it is rather strong and I am not used to it. After lunch, we continued to explor the town. And I think I am high on the drink. Ended up, we sat on the bench watching the Spanish kids playing soccer. The breeze was nice, the sun is warm and the weather was cold. And I fell asleep under the sun...after the wine...
I think I "rested" for an hour. Power nap! I was fresh after the rest and we went on to walk and took pictures again. As Sitges is a small town, we headed back to Barcelona at 5pm. Ciao Sitges!
